Life Essentials | Where Should You Be on Your Journey by Age 20? (2 of 2)
Monday Jan 19, 2026
Monday Jan 19, 2026
Guest: Campbell Panetti
What “tools” would be good to have developed (or at least been exposed to, be familiar with) by the time you’re 20-years-old? This is a fun and meaningful conversation with Campbell about important “life skills” - not only how these skills are developed, but what skills should we concentrate on to truly be on the road to “success” in life?
The tools/skills that we addressed in this episode:
- Have a worldview informed by the Word of God. You should have a good appreciation and knowledge of God’s Word - which should be growing and maturing every year!
- Understand how to treat a woman well. As a young man, it starts with appreciating your mom and sisters (if you have them). By age 20, you need to value and cherish the biblical role of a woman…and be intentional about developing mature relationships, including the importance of purity and influence of what you see and hear.
- Begin to grasp how powerful the impact of music is in your life. Pay attention to what influences the person you’re becoming.
- Begin to grasp that you are body, soul, and spirit - what you put into your body and mind influence the person you become. Eat well and read good books - a good goal for a 20-year-old is one book a month?!
- Stop making excuses, don’t look back, focus on where you want to go and get moving in that direction!
- Life skills to be able to take care of yourself…and begin to take care of others. Do laundry, cook a couple meals, clean up after yourself! Appreciate the small things that it takes for people to function in society!
- Understand and appreciate the meaning and importance of what a true “friend” is. You have colleagues, acquaintances, classmates, teammates - and friends. A friend is someone who has your best interest in mind and is willing to do what is necessary even if it costs them.
- Understand and appreciate the value of your time…as a resource, time is way more valuable than people think…don’t waste your time. The days are long, but the years are short.

The tools/skills that we addressed in this episode:
- Tools for spiritual formation - your faith has become your own, not your parent’s faith. You can “feed” yourself in your spiritual formation.
- You have someone pouring spiritual truth into you…and you’re pouring spiritual truth into someone else!
- Know how to work and have a strong work ethic.
- Understand the value of relationships/connections and how to build and cultivate them.

Word of the Year 2026
Monday Dec 29, 2025
Monday Dec 29, 2025
Guests: The Entire Panetti Family!
Our family has been selecting a “Word for the Year” for quite a while and I wanted to share this process with each of you because I really believe it can be such a valuable and rewarding experience - honestly, the process of looking for the word is, in my opinion, the most valuable part - spending time in God’s Word and in prayer and expectation - asking God what He wants to do with you this year, considering ways that you can and should grow in maturity and grace, and actually reflecting on God’s goodness and provision over the past year - it’s such a rewarding and wonderful exercise for every believer! I hope that this becomes an annual tradition in your life as it has in ours.

Preparation for Purposeful Planning
Monday Dec 22, 2025
Monday Dec 22, 2025
Host: Dan Panetti
I believe that too many men fail to make significant and meaningful plans for the future because they either falsely believe that they are “fine” and don’t really need to change…or they’ve tried the world’s concept of temporary changes and are tired and disappointed with the lack of true purpose. Well, that is a great set up for my word for 2026 - Purpose, that I took from Psalm 57:2 where God’s Word says, “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.”
Did you know that God Most High HAS a purpose for YOU? He does. And He wants you to know Him, know His plan, and live in such a way that you advance His purpose for your life. If you are looking at your goals for 2026 with that mindset, asking God what He wants to do in and through you, your goals will reflect a much different concept than just self-promotion.
Guys, my prayer for you is that you do the hard work of preparing yourself to truly know God…and make Him known through your life - all that you say and do would be a reflection of His goodness and glory for the world to see. Jesus told his disciples in Matthew 5 that they “are the light of the world.” I think you can agree with me that this dark world needs more lights…lights that shine brightly and point the way to the hope that is Christ Jesus! As you look at all the Christmas lights on your Christmas tree - that’s exactly what they are doing…pointing you upward toward heaven to see the true Light of the World!
Praying for you to have a Merry Christmas - and to prepare yourself for an incredible New Year - ask what God wants to do with your life…and then walk in a manner worthy of your calling in the coming days ahead!

What Makes a Great Man? | Choosing a Good Name Over Great Riches
Monday Dec 15, 2025
Monday Dec 15, 2025
Host: Dan Panetti
In Democracy in America, French writer Alexis deTocqueville makes the statement that democracy/liberty enables men to do “great things.” But, he also emphasizes that America’s top priority shouldn’t be producing men who can do great things, but producing “great men.” What makes a “great man”? As you consider your goals and “Word for the Year” consider what you’re pursuing - great things…or being a great man? Proverbs 22:1 tells us that a good name is to be chosen rather than great riches - so there is a choice to be made, a decision, a direction that differs between the two end goals - which will you choose to pursue?

Finding God's Purpose for YOUR Life
Monday Dec 08, 2025
Monday Dec 08, 2025
Psalm 57:2
I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.
God is at work…what is HIS purpose for YOUR life? Don’t get caught in the comparison game of temporary things, seek the greater good of a bigger God who has designed you for His good works…and walk in them…meaning that you need to move at God’s speed, not the hurried pace of this world to enjoy God’s purposes being revealed and perfected in your life. Men, don’t miss this - your eternal rewards are tied to your eternal investments into God’s purposes for your life.

Changing Your Perspective | Game Plan for a New Outlook on Life
Monday Dec 01, 2025
Monday Dec 01, 2025
Is your home a peaceful and nourishing place - what can you do to make it a more inviting environment? The change you want…starts with YOU! In Jeremiah 13 there is a profound question - can an Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots? The idea is how can a person change who they are - and this is the idea that God offers you a new life, to be born again, transformed into a new creature in Christ - all amazing concepts that begin with accepting the free gift of God’s grace by faith made available through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ! From there…get plugged into a good Bible-teaching church and SERVE others - and I believe that your environment will begin to change…as you do!

Judah and his brothers (mentioned, but not by name, line doesn’t go thru them)
Perez and Zerah (Zee-rah)

Guest: Jack Cassels
Great conversation with one of my nephews, Jack Cassels, who came prepared to share how faithful God has been on his journey and some of the great life lessons he’s learned along the way. Love how Jack uses God’s Word as his guide for life and submits himself to its authority. Love how Jack has intentionally built authentic community and accountability in his life. And love how Jack loves the Lord, his family, and life! Listen and learn.
